It’s been a week of ups and downs for us.

The up day was Saturday! Malcolm asked Bethany of she wanted to go for a ride with him to the dump. She totally shocked us both when she said yes!! She never goes anywhere with just daddy alone. She always wants Mommy to tag along. Naturally, I sent along my camera for Malcolm to document the momentous occasion! Even though they were only gone about 45 minutes they had a wonderful daddy-daughter date, and it gave me a chance spend a little time in the coveted outdoors!!

Bethany began having seizures again at Flash Club last Sunday and was only able to participate in her two favorite songs. Aggression began Monday night and lasted until Tuesday night when her sisters came home and cheered her up! You can see her happy smile below!

On Wednesday, Bethany was excited to go to the zoo with Rebekah and Kristin, but unfortunately, after only visiting four exhibits, she began racing back to the car.  They said that she was having difficulty walking and cut across an empty field, rather than using the proper trail back to the parking lot to get to the car,  where she eventually had quite a few seizures.

The nasty seizures did cut Bethany’s trip to the zoo with Rebekah and Kristin short, but she managed to enjoy what little of it she did see, so I call it a happy and successful outing despite the hasty exit! And hey, just getting her out of the car and into the zoo for even five minutes was an accomplishment, so I proclaim the outing a success. (I’ll have a video up of this zoo outing next week!)

As you can see in the picture below she was enjoying what little of the zoo she did get to see. It’s a shame that she didn’t make it to the baby porcupine exhibit that she was looking forward to seeing, though!

I think, what with Rachel moving to another country next month, Rebekah getting married and moving out, and Jeremiah not wanting to be featured,  this blog and our You Tube channel has quickly become the Bethany show!! When the others are around and want to be included a blog post or video, I guess they’ll have to be guest stars! Oh well, that’s what happens when your kids grow up. I guess… SIGH!!

  1. I’m sorry to hear her seizures prevented enjoyment this week, but it is a positive host she’s had a good attitude otherwise. It’s wonderful she manages to have fun despite the seizures.

  2. I am so sorry to hear that Bethany’s seizures were worse this week and impacted on her life so much. I am praying that next week will be much better.
