Weekend with the Kids at Fly Creek Cider Mill

Thank you to all who have been praying for Bethany. It seems that she has sinusitus, a sore throat, and an infected lymph node.

While I’m sorry she feels so badly, I am relieved that it isn’t lyme’s disease as she had been bitten by a tick a couple of weeks ago. We never thought too much about it because it wasn’t a deer tick and she had never developed the tell tale bull’s eye rash.

However, I began to worry a little that it might be lyme’s disease last Thursday when she told us her neck hurt. I looked up the symptoms of lyme’s and I found out that a stiff neck can be a symptom of it, so then I was even more worried about that! You cannot imagine how thankful to God I am that she doesn’t have lyme’s disease!

Anyway.. on to our weekend re-cap! Our son Jim and his wife Jasmine came up for the weekend. These weekends are always way too short by the way! It seems like we have made it a tradition to visit the Fly Creek Cider Mill on at least one of the weekends that they come up during the summer and this year was no exception!

This year was all the more special because of the very rare occasion of Nate actually wanting to accompany us on our outing! I was a little bummed that Bethany was till not feeling up to snuff, though. She didn’t want to join us on this trip so Rachel very graciously volunteered to stay home with her so I could go! We had a great time as you will see in the pictures!

The best part of going to the mill is sampling all the cider, wine, cheeses, donuts, fudge, dips, spreads, and sauces! As hard as it was to do I did NOT sample any fudge!

Jeremiah just cannot get through a visit to the mill without eating a cricket or some other disgusting creature! Apparently, scorpions taste like chocolate! I apologize if exploiting bugs in this way offends anyone!

God is giving you quite the story. Looks like a lovely weekend and also thankful that God spared yours the battle with Lyme disease.

    Hi Sylvia,

Nice to see you, as I hop over from Ann’s link up. Fun to count gifts with you and to see photos of your family and the fun time out at that museum. Blessings to you,
